Aloe History

Aloe History.
Did you know... Aloe vera has been used since Ancient Egyptian times. Cleopatra attributed her beauty (in part) to aloe vera. Alexander the Great had wagons full of aloe plants towed into battle so the wounds of his soldiers could be treated with the aloe gel!

In more recent history Gandhi drank aloe when he was fasting.

Aloe has long been known as the burns plant - it's used on burns from accidents and also on sunburn. If you have ever holidayed in the Caribbean you may have seen locals carrying aloe leaves along the beaches to apply to sun-burnt holiday makers!

It's relatively new to the Western world simply because it's only recently (around 30 years ago) that a natural way was found to keep the aloe vera fresh and potent.
